Flavour text
Battlefield medicine is as much about timing as it is healing. A perfect remedy is worthless if it comes too late.
Rulings
If Unflinching Hortimancer is dealt lethal damage at the same time that you gain life, it won't receive a counter from its ability in time to save it.
If more than one creature you control with lifelink deals combat damage at the same time, the last ability will trigger once for each of those creatures.
